After signing with Hollywood Records, Lovato released her pop rock debut album, Don't Forget (2008), which debuted at number two on the Billboard 200. Its follow-up, Here We Go Again (2009), debuted at number one in the US and is certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Lovato's third studio album, Unbroken (2011), experimented with pop and R&B, where Lovato's fourth studio album, Demi (2013) followed a more pop-friendly sound. The album debuted with US sales of 110,000 copies, her highest first-week sales in the country. For her fifth and sixth studio albums, Confident (2015) and Tell Me You Love Me (2017), Lovato infused soul and focused on more mature content as opposed to her previous works. The latter became her first album to be certified Platinum by the RIAA , and its lead single, "Sorry Not Sorry", became her highest-charting single in the US, peaking at number six, and her first single to be certified 5x Platinum in the US. In 2020, Lovato released the singles "Anyone", "I Love Me" (both becoming Lovato's first number-one singles on Billboard's Digital Songs chart), and "I'm Ready" with Sam Smith, which reached the top 40 in twenty-two countries. As for collaborations, Lovato was featured on the song "Solo" by British electronic music band Clean Bandit in 2018, which became an international megahit, reaching number-one in 17 countries including the UK and became certified Platinum or higher in twelve countries. Lovato also sang in both English and Spanish on "Échame la Culpa" with Luis Fonsi, which also reached number-one in 17 countries and became certified Platinum or higher in ten countries, including Diamond in Brazil and Mexico.
